Hello from the Mountains

We took off over the weekend and went up into the Cascades found a neat camp site and just did nothing.....except drank a little beer and a little hiking and the girls fished and there was camp fire pizza. life was good this is the Boss and me at Koosah falls

So let me start out with, where the hell is all the ammo
gone. Dear Lord O Mercy there is no ammo to be had.
next is I had a little blood work done........Vitamin D
normal human is between 30 and 100. Mine was 7.
Cause ....possible gluten intolerance....Farg, I love bread.
I finished my fire department physical fitness test last night
out of a 22 Min course I did it in 12 Min. but my BP went
through the roof 258/90 I have to go talk to my Saw Bones
and get a anti hypertensive before I blow a gasket.

In the garden and stuff

We cleaned in the garden space this weekend.
It tends to get messy over the winter. I don't
know why but there are weeds to pull and spray
there are rodents and varmints to kill and the
compost has been neglected all winter.
We planted vegetable starts and cursed the blackberries.
and enjoyed a 70 degree day, Oh was it wonderful,
I am getting ready to re manufacture a hole bunch of
8mm Mauser ammo. and I believe I will buy some
copper gas checks and cast up a couple hundred bullets,
I have been polishing brass and sorting it,
(it keeps me out of trouble)
last night a motorcycle sped by the house at well
over 100 mph and not long after that there was a
sheriffs cruiser code 3, then another, and another
with two more sitting in our driveway and watching the road
(silly little meth boy you cant outrun Motorola). LMAO
I went out and told the Deputies They rocked
and to beat the little bastard for me also.

I tried to go to drill

So Honest to God I was going to go to Drill tonight ....then Mrs fyreman decided to go work on her tree stand. That was not a problem, what was a problem was she had new straps to attach
her tree stand and they were zip tied to a piece of plastic and she decided to use her Schrade hunting knife(read Scalpel) to cut the zip ties, and she slipped. 1" wide and 1" deep in the meat of the heel of her hand (ouch), 2 hours later, two hydracodone, topical lidocaine, lidocaine shots, irrigations, stitches, and x-ray and we can go home. Her was pitiful, and angry...its close to the end of deer season.

Boise Road trip?????

OK I'm not holding my breath or anything but I think we got the go ahead to pick up our engine
there is a good tale written HERE about the sorrows of our little engine penned by my Captain in the Fire department, well I am gonna be one mad Fryeman if we get there and they jack with me, I told the Chief I was bringing guns and I think I will load up the AR just because. I am packed but I am nervous and cant sleep...wish me luck and peace of mind :)

So I was suppose to go to Drill tonight at the fire department but when I got home HH-6 said the
nieces horse had torn down the fence and guess what I was doing until 9:00 pm .....yup stringing and stretching wire, I'm a farmer

We put up 4 ft woven wire with a hot wire along the top. try that on for size Lulu

Ok Here Is my redneck meal ....Corndog Casserole. A Cast iron pot full of corn bread ( my own recipe and its yours if you ask ) and Johnsonville cheddar wursts cut up and Ortega chillies diced up and put in the corn bread. I am listening to Dwight Yoakam's "Faster than you"....It is so Rock a Billy, I love that stuff. I will leave you with a very important warning.....its how I roll.

So I am sitting in the Pickup at Goodwill
Last night and I witness a lady back her car
into another car then speed off and Who do you
think got the plate #, and found the little old lady
that owned the car that got hit , and then helped
her call P.D. yes it was Public savant fyremandoug.
First officer on scene was Officer Tall drink O water
Who I have known for a long time, he was in my
son’s Guard Unit. Well he says “fyreman did you
witness the incident and I said “why yes I did”
my plate # was a little off but they used a partial and
description and said does this look like the driver,
and a pic pops up on his laptop in his cruiser .
“Why yes , yes it is” says I and shazam they
have said jackrabbit, It pisses me off when someone
doesn’t do the right thing and splits a scene.
It just is not right

Little old lady said “I can’t believe someone
Would take the time to help me”

Its just the right thing to do.

My week

So this week is just full, I started Sunday with the Fire Department Annual summer Picnic…And who was the Grill master, yes it was I. I marinated 16 Lbs of Costco flank steak and Grilled it, and Oh baby it was GOOOOOOD. Monday was the 4th Monday of the month so that means Safety Committee at the Fire Department, we have been naughty at the F.D. and haven’t had a safety committee for a little while, contrary to what OSHA says (read MANDITORY here) then last night we had regular drill night and we went over rope rescue which is right up my alley I have studied rope rescue since about 1985
We set up a Haul system and showed how to retrieve the victim back up the hill safely.
Tonight it will be putting some tractors away for the winter, Oh and guess what I get to do on the 12 of September go to Boise ID and get my new Engine…..I am so stoked. I have waited over a year since the fire that destroyed my Old Engine
